👍Hello friends, In this article I am going to give you a brief introduction to the most buzzing topic in the industry Quantum computing.

So let’s start,

What is Quantum Computing?

🎯Quantum computing is an area of computing focused on developing computer technology based on the principles of quantum theory (which explains the behavior of energy and material on the atomic and subatomic levels). Computers used today can only encode information in bits that take the value of 1 or 0 — restricting their ability.

Quantum computing, on the other hand, uses quantum bits or qubits. It harnesses the unique ability of subatomic particles that allows them to exist in more than one state (i.e., a 1 and a 0 at the same time).

⚙ Applications of Quantum computing:

Quantum computing is used in the following main areas:

  1. Automated vehicle design
  2. Grid Optimization
  3. Precise weather forecasting
  4. Risk Analysis
  5. fraud detection and many more…

🧐🧐Why does quantum computing matter a lot?

The era of traditional microprocessor-powered computing that has shaped our lives in many different ways is coming to an end. Today’s future lies in modern quantum computers.

Researchers at New York-based multinational technology firm IBM, believe that quantum computers will be a mainstream presence in our lives in five years. According to American financial services provider, Morgan Stanley, the quantum computing market is slated to be worth US$10 billion in the next decade. Another report by Homeland Security Research states that between 2018 and 2024, quantum computing and related technologies will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.6 percent.

🎢Major Competitors in quantum computing:

The race to build the most sophisticated quantum computers is on. Thus far, IBM has managed to successfully build a quantum computer that can handle 50-qubits. Announced at the end of last year, it is by far the largest and most powerful quantum computer to date and some experts suggest that it could outclass many of today’s supercomputers. IBM has also developed another computer that can handle 20-qubits via a cloud computing platform.

Money’s invested by top giants in quantum computing:

China:$10 billion

USA:$1.2 billion

INDIA:$1.2 billion.

These are the main points that show how powerful quantum computing is to be.

👍👍👍👍Thank you and meet you in the next article.
